No doubt you’ve heard about the Nexus One by Google. But have you seen one unboxed? In an effort to advertise the device, Google is handing out free Nexus One phones to it’s YouTube partners if they make a video advertising the device. Patrick Bolvin, the guy famous for his stop motion animation videos on YouTube decided to take up old Mountain View on their offer and came up with the video you see below. Check it out.

This is not the first time we’re hearing about this device. Since October of last year we’ve been getting video demos of the 5-inch Android wonder that Dell hopes to bring to the market. Yesterday however, Dell made it official. Dubbed the “Streak,” this 5-inch tablet is Android powered (as to what version we’re not sure although we’re guessing 1.5), and will be sporting such things as WiFi etc.

No word on price or release date but we do hear that it has a SIM card, carries a 5 megapixel camera and could run on AT&T’s network if given the chance. Check the press shots and video below.

AT&T is going Android and one of their phones will be the Motorola Backflip. The Backflip is an Android 1.5 device that sports such features as a 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and a full QWERTY keyboard. This is not a slider phone, the Backflip has a keyboard is on the outside and flips out for use (hence the name Backflip).

The device will be getting Android 2.1 but that will not be until a future date. We’re also getting word that Flash 10.1 is coming to the device so things should start heating up from there. Check out the press shots in the gallery below.

The graphic is pretty self explanatory so we’ll be brief in our explanation. But we would just like to point out two things. First of all BillShrink fails to mention Sprint’s “Everything Mobile” plan which is an industry first and a lot better then any of the offerings from T-Mobile. Secondly, they fail to mention that T-Mobile still has the least 3G coverage. Other then that, the graphic is pretty accurate. Check it out.

No doubt you’ve heard about the Nexus One. It’s the phone that’s supposed to be Google’s masterpiece, a device that promises to heat up the cellphone market. Made official yesterday after weeks of speculation and rumors, Google has laid out its idea for the Nexus One.

First of all the device is Android powered. In fact it runs on Android 2.1, so the rumors about it being an in-house software were not true. Secondly the device is not solely Google branded. The Nexus One will be available one of three ways. You can buy it sans a contract for a mere $549. On a two year contract from T-Mobile, the device drops to a manageable $179. Verizon is listed as a carrier of the device for Spring 2010. As for Europe, Vodafone is being listed as the carrier for an unspecified date. T-Mobile Pricing options can be viewed HERE!

According to Android chief Andy Rubin, Google will “consider” adding the feature to the device. But we wouldn’t have much quips with that as multitouch has been lacking from many touchscreen phones and they still perform flawlessly.

Verizon

While Palm will not confirm this information as they said they are still in prospective talks with wireless providers, Verizon is making a pretty bold statement by saying that will be carrying the Pre in six months as well as “a cousin” (Palm EOS?) Of course they are also saying they will be getting a Blackberry Storm 2, Tour and some type of Android device, but that is beside the point here.

While this does look plausible we’re not so quick to jump to conclusions as others in the tech world have done. This is due to the fact that we heard Vodafone say something similar a few months ago only to hear just last week that they have failed in their bid. So as we said, we’re taking this with a grain of salt. Sprint and Palm have been best buddies for ages and we don’t see anything breaking up that friendship anytime soon as both companies are struggling and need one another for support.
