Tweed

I was never that into Twitter until I got my Pre and met the Tweed app. And I’m not the only one who has found it to be one of the best apps currently available, after all it is nearing the 200,000 download mark on the App Catalog. That said, Pivotal Labs has confessed it was an experiment, something to get them familiar with the webOS platform, and since it has mushroomed into one of the most popular apps for the device, they have decided that version 1.0 will is gonna cost ya a little something.

Justifying their decision, they will be including a few more features in the next version. For example photo uploading will not use the email workaround and will support Twitter photo upload clients such as yFrog, TwitPic, TweetPhoto, Twitgoo and Posterous. Dashboard notifications will be more useful and users will be able to view more information on profiles, larger profile pics and send direct messages.

If you have the current version (0.9.16), you will not be forced to upgrade. But if you want to it’s gonna cost you $3.99. Fortunately they will be doing a sweet deal of only $1.99 for the first few weeks after the new release.
