iTunes 8.2.1 update

Its not like Apple hadn’t hinted at this for some time now, and of course Palm was aware that this would probably be the case, but so fast? Well Pre fans, its true, if you update to iTunes 8.2.1, your Pre will no longer be able to trick Apple’s iTunes into thinking its an iPod.

That said please be aware this doesn’t mean you cannot load music from the iTunes store onto your Pre (albeit its DRM free), all this means is you will have to do it the USB way which includes going into My Computer and etc….

Personally I never used the feature so I couldn’t care less, not because iTunes isn’t good, but mainly because you cannot install the bloody thing without hitching Safari and QuickTime to your system.

As to the course of action from now on, we wouldn’t be surprised if the next major update to webOS doesn’t fix this problem. We’ll just have to wait and see.
